Regular Hygiene Visits
We recommend that you visit your general dentist every three to six months for cleanings and dental checkups. Doing so can help you to maintain healthy teeth and gums while undergoing orthodontic treatment. For optimal examination by the general dentist and optimal cleaning access by the hygienist, we offer a complimentary service where we remove your archwires before your dental visit and replace them afterward. This service is coordinated with your visits to the general dentist, so that the archwires are out of your mouth no longer than 24 hours, to avoid unwanted movement of the teeth. Just let us know when you would like to schedule these complimentary appointments, and we will be happy to accommodate you in any way that we can.
The WHO Stamp Hygiene Card Program
We are very excited to offer you the WHO Stamp Hygiene Card Program. As a patient, you will be given several WHO Stamp Hygiene Cards at the beginning of your orthodontic treatment. You should present one of these cards to your dentist or hygienist at each of your cleaning appointments throughout the time that you are undergoing orthodontic treatment. Have your dentist or hygienist fill out your card and return it to you, so that you can bring it to our office at your next appointment with us and retrieve your extra WHO Stamps. Since you should see your dentist every three to six months while wearing orthodontic appliances, the WHO Stamp Hygiene Card is a way that you can significantly increase the number of WHO Stamps you earn, while keeping your teeth and gums clean. That's a double win for you: a healthy smile AND the ability to rack up those WHO Stamps, so that you can redeem them for cool prizes sooner.
